We know that getting tutors and additional educational programs for your child outside of their typical classroom can be challenging. That's why we offer a large amount of flexibility in our scheduling. For parents on the go, you may not have time to drive your child to a tutoring program across the city. This is why we've ensured that we can have our tutors meet you at an agreed-upon location that works for you, your child, and your schedule! We also offer conveniently timed afterschool programs so you don't have to worry about oddly timed commutes throughout the week.
Standardized tests can be stressful for students, and we want to alleviate that stress as much as possible. Our tutors are highly trained in helping students prepare for all types of standardized tests including the NYC Regents, SAT, and ACT. With our help, your child will not only achieve a high score, but they'll do so with confidence.
While it's important for us to teach the basic subjects, we're passionate about offering a wide variety of programs to teach our students in a way that accommodates their strengths, weaknesses, and even their interests! Here are just some of the subjects that we offer:• Reading Skills: No matter what grade level your child is at with reading, we can help them rise in as many reading levels as needed to keep up, or even surpass their classmates at school!• Math: Our math tutoring services ensure that students, whether they're in kindergarten or grade 12, will have a confident understanding of math and all of its requirements.• Science: From chemistry to biology, our science programs are top-notch! They'll keep your child interested as we cover a variety of interesting subjects and projects.
No student learns the same way. One of the main things that divides students in the way that they learn is in whether or not discussion with other students is distracting or helpful to the learning process. This is why we've made it our mission to be accommodating to students, no matter their neurotypicality or learning style. We offer one-on-one tutoring sessions or tutoring sessions in small groups. We believe that a crucial aspect of any education lies in cultural learning and cultural understanding. Given that the LiteracyWorx Lab is based in NYC, we have such an incredible breadth of cultures surrounding us!Many parents want their kids to be able to break out of their bubbles and explore new things. When it comes to respectfully delving into another culture, it can be confusing as to where, or how, to start. We create opportunities for the whole family to immerse themselves in another culture's food, customs, traditions, and diverse histories. We do this through tutoring sessions, but also through trips! We believe that actually experiencing different cultures is essential to developing cultural understanding, which is an aspect commonly missed in approaches that are purely academic.
In conjecture with our cultural learning experiences, we also offer a multitude of foreign language lessons. Whether it's Spanish, Japanese, French, English, or any of the others, we've developed tutoring sessions that efficiently teach students new languages in a fun, educational way, no matter their age!
